1. Salsa Cromoto
2. On One carbon monocoque
Simples 🙂
Kona P2
salsa cromoto on my commuter. They are ok. Handled very strangely when i first put them on til I fitted a 110mm stem. Not sure why, but it's fine now.
Ok, thanks, thats great so far.
I'm looking at doing xc stuff, they're a replacement for a 100mm fork.
The exotic carbon forks seem to catch me eye at £105.
Thought spending £80 on a salso or kinesis I may aswell throw in the extra £20 and go for the exotics.
Any opinions on that??
I've been using Exotic carbons for a while... Nothing much bad to say about them, they're not the lightest but they seem sturdy, I've given them more of a beating than most folks. They're a little flexy, if that bothers you- I combined mine initially with a very grabby brake setup and it was pretty funny watching the fork twanging around under braking. But I reckon the flex is probably more a benefit than an issue.
Buy these off me for £70 🙂

I've had a set of Exotics for three years odd. They are fabulous. Superb value. If you want carbon then buy them
pipedream do some for £50 look on their facebook page
These are great value £51

Have a pair and they are great!
I was looking at those On One carbon monocoque in a 26" for my Kona unit, but those 15mm x -lite look great and the same price as the on-ones.
I'm assuming they are all very similar?
and apart from weight I'm wondering if they are any better than the Kona P2's I have on it at the moment
Liking my Exotics, thought I had some creaking issues with them early on but turned out to be the headset...should have guessed really.
Very happy at £105 🙂
got a whitebrothers rock solid for sale.
I bought a pair of singular steel rigids and they are fantastic, springy fairly light and don't flex too much, had a pair of p2 before and they were just as good, both available cheap and if tou can get them second hand cheaper
Have really enjoyed it so definitely worth a go
I run these, great forks. Not cheap though.got a whitebrothers rock solid for sale.
I use alu Exotics ... Nothing bad so report.
FWIW, the Exotic carbon fork is the same as the White Bros Rocksolid (and the Nukeproof rigid). And IIRC the cheaper of the Pro models is also now available branded Exotic.
On-one monocoque, good looking forks and good ride characteristics but look wrong on any bike frame that has skinny tubes. Best for carbon and Alu frames. Exotic would be a good bet for the money.

Exotic Carbon are nice. Better than the On-One's. Much nicer finish too.
the exotic carbon are a lovely bit of kit for the money.. can't fault mine
I've also used the orange F8 forks in the past.. They were a great value fork but a little bit too flexy for my style of riding..
Search for Mosso on eBay....although alu....so may not be what you want.
I have the exotic carbon forks on one of my bikes. I like the feel of them and ride them a lot. But first rigid fork since my 90s muddy fox, so cant offer a comparison with other options. But, I dont feel the need to try any others.

I've got some F8s and really like them. They're suprisingly lightweight for steel forks and, for the sort of riding I do, nice and compliant (which might translate into too flexy for some depending on riding style). I've ridden On-One steel forks too, which I think look nicer than the F8s but are probably a bit stiffer.

Good point that, they do look better on carbon or thicker ally tubed bikes.
still tempted though, my only concern is the 50mm difference in A-C between the P2 and the 455mm X-lite or On-one.
my only concern is the 50mm difference
going from 405 to 455 is going to seriously mess with your geometry.
and posibly rip the headtube off the frame with extra leverage.
don't let that stop you though, as long as we get pics 😉
as long as we get pics
before or after the faceplant? 😆
