The rain and mud have killed my Manitou Blacks I temporarily fitted onto the 456SS last year. Would sticking a rigid Salsa fork and a fat tyre suffice? I ride mostly XC, beer being more important than speed.
It would be awesome.
Why would you say it? Any hands-on experience, gut feeling or just a proper STW wind-up?
Gut feeling. They are meant to work well with short travel forks I think. Some long a2c rigids and a massive tires sounds like awesome fun.
I used to have a 69er made of it, was fun but I don't really remember. Have just fitted 2.4" Advantages, loads of mudroom at the front of the bike, ok at the back. Will try it out this weekend at the latest.
Looks good, must say.
