Has anyone any experience of Ridley cross sizing?

I know they size from c-c on the seat tube so a 52 is actually a 56.

I currently ride a 54 crosslight with quite a bit of seat post showing

and a I ride a 56 road bike with this much post

A friend of mine had a bike fit done by oli beckingsale recently and he disagreed you should size down for cross it should be the same sort of set up as your road bike.

(I'm 5'9" with a 32 inseam)

just wondered if anyone has ridden the x fire/x night

I ride a 58 Ridley road bike and a 56 cross bike. I very much like the look of the x-fire on shop4cross, which is a 56 and would be perfect for me @ 6,2"

Rode my mates 52 (which is actually a 56) at the weekend and it fitted me perfectly.

Made me realise i got the kinesis set up totally wrong.. feel quite stretched out and the saddle to stem drop is quite a lot
