Got a few euros to spend in a bike shop and was thinking about riding trousers. Round here, south of France, Enduro riding, I see more and more riders using them.
Will have to be Specialized or Fox.
Are they confortable, OK to ride up?
I finally took the plunge and brought some last month. I love them, the trousers and sealskin socks have made the wet ride fun again.
Got both the Fox and the Specialized Demo Pro pants. Both are good but I find the Demo pants are more comfortable for all day rides.
Love my Demo pro pants, 3 season use in the uk, just a bit too vented and lightweight for a Scottish winter. Swapped to Fox Defend Fire for winter and they are nice and warm but not cut quite as well as the Specialized.
Would love another pair of the Demos but they are like hens teeth.
Thanks all. Will go and try some. It is never soaking wet here.
Except when Tracey came for the EWS in 2017.
Yep, Demo Pros for April to October-ish
I have Royal Storm Pants for winter.
Bit of a weird fit for me but they keep you dry and warm in all but biblical weather!
@clubby how do they fare in wet slop
Also in Scotland and my royal racing have gave up the Ghost after a year
Ass just soaks through after an hour
Might need to go Ghetto with some gorilla tape inside
I'll ask again on this thread... Any shorter leg offerings out there other than Keela Roadrunners?
@hainman haven’t used them in really wet conditions yet, but material is heavier than Royal Racing Storms. Shrugged off all the spray from recent rides. Should be sturdier but not sure they will be as waterproof, no seam taping or the like. Fleece lining is nice, not too thick but feels better on skin than Storms do.

This can be a real issue for us shortarses. I'm resigned to either non-cycling trousers that I can press onto use, or the services of the village seamstress (lucky I live in the 1950s) but that's not totally ideal for trousers with cuffs or tapered legs.
Don't bank on getting them for German sites if you're in UK. I've tried several and none have allowed me to order as I'm from UK.
And all UK sites seem to be sold out.

🤔 wonders if I can arrange a mail order service with my nephew on Heilbronn?
Nukeproof Blackline? I have a set and theyre very nice. Not particularly water resistant, if at all, but very comfy.
I've been wearing these over bibs for the last few cold sloppy Scottish rides:

I bought them with the intention of cutting them to 3/4 length but haven't got round to it yet. Temperature is not a problem at the moment anyway.
Waterproof enough that I could hose myself off and stay totally dry underneath. I think they are possibly the best cheap alternative to an endura mt-500 onesie.

I find Fox quite short, I have to buy a waist size up at least to get a decent length on the leg.
