I’m staying near new mills pen-twyn this Easter for a week any trail riding from the door?
I’m familiar with Staunton/FOD but not this side of the river
Strava heat map mainly shows gravel riding I think
Cheers

From Monmouth it would be a shame to miss the Black Mountains - not from the door though.
Knock yourself out. Absolutely tons of it. I rarely leave the area, just ride out of the door.
Happy to show you around.
Ha awesome sounds like we struck lucky.
Cheers marko I might take you up on that offer. We are down for a week from 7th April, I’ll message you
James
It seems to be out of print but if you can get a copy this map is good and shows trails on the West side of the river very well. Been useful when I've cycled near there when visiting family.

Also I think this ride from the Singletrack comic may more of less go past where you are staying:

Book a Geometron demo day
My backyard too, a great spot to ride, great variety of trails at Tregagle/Colonels Park wood, Trelleck common, Beacon Hill, Cleddon, Whitelye, Whitestone all easy to see on OS and Strava heatmaps, and to link up as long a route as you like. Drop down to Redbrook to cross the river to the other side.
I’d come out for a ride too
