So I've recently moved to Braunton from Bristol. I know the riding in Exmoor around Minehead quite well, but I'm wondering if there's anything closer - maybe over the west side of Exmoor.

Anyone got any ideas?

Codden hill and snapper are good places to head for.
You need really need a local to show you the tracks.
I think southfork have a useful map.

The nearest of the Exmoor stuff is Simons Bath I think. Fairly obvious little loop along the river

Go see Carb Cycles in Barnstaple, top bike peeps, should have lots of local knowledge.

*Edit was going to mention Keypitts Farm but seems it's closed due to lack of crew 🙁

Wow. Codden Hill! I used to ride there 20 years ago when I lived in Barnstaple. Is there much still there?
There was also a quarry we would ride out to along the road from Braunton to Ilfracombe but I can't remember the name of it now!

If you fancied a drive, head up to Triscombe. Awesome riding up there.

West side of Exmoor is generally more difficult to link up a good loop without lots of tarmac & suffers more in after rain.
Codden hill is ok for some climbing as it drains well but its far from technical.
Snapper was destroyed during logging in 2015 although the local yoof have been rebuilding some trails in the wood further up the road.
Theres a NDMTB Facebook group & a group used to meet in the car park behind the London inn for weekday nightrides.
As above any of the Lbs should be able to help.
