going out in the morning, and also on Monday, I fancy somewhere new. Been living in Stockport so know the peaks, been to degla, both Phillips parks, rivvy, delamere and a few others. Anyone know anywhere else around an hour away that’s worth visiting?

Cheers

There's supposed to be some trails around Hag Fold that have been built, but I've never really had a look. As you probably know I live in Leigh and always have to drive somewhere for decent trails.

If you ride up the canal towards Ince, when you get to the first lock, there's a bit of a play area in the woods on the right side. People seem to always be digging new stuff around there.

I built an XC hardtail for local rides as there's not much about (that I know of).

Have you been over to Darwen Tower and Roddlesworth Woods?

I might have a look round hag fold and ince this morning as my backs a bit sore today.

never been up to Darwin tower, I’ll look into that now. I live in Golborne so that’s straight up the m6 for me

Ah yeah, I've done Darwen Tower for the past two weeks, but I still have to drive to Rivi. I was trying to think more ride out of your front door 🙂

Just moved to Leigh so would be interested in from the door rides too. Seems to be plenty of canals and paths around, but all pretty flat! More gravel bike suited than MTB...

You're not wrong about it being flat!

I did have a gravel bike and it was really well suited for local stuff. Ended up building an XC hardtail that is just as fun and a bit faster overall.

The bus lane/ cycle path up to Worsley, then back down the canal to Pennington Flash (or carry on to Haigh Hall for mileage) is my preferred route for a local ride to get the miles in.
