Hi all, I'm planning a trip with my teenage son to ballater on the edge of the cairngorms, mainly a walking holiday but would like to throw in a bit of mtbing, any routes in the area?

The guys in the shop are very helpful and I think they have some maps of trails in the local woods. The one we did was good fun. Loch Muick and Capel Mounth is great but quite a big ride.

Your speaking about the tops hambl90. The main rideable trails are clear long before then. Would suggest getting touch with http://www.cyclehighlands.com/. They are related to a great group and shop based in ballater.
