We're staying @ Woolacombe this coming week (nice weather forecasted - not). Boy and I taking our XC bikes to do a few nice rides (& keep up training). Anywhere decent to ride? -- we don't mind hills
OS map doesn't show too much other than coast path -- which I know isn't rideable in many places. Is it rideable towards Ilfracombe or too many steps and sketchy cliff areas ??
Prefer not to ride "the Woolacombe downs" all day long!

Morning. I was just searching for similar as I'm staying down that way too this week, although down round St Ives. I came upon this which might be of interest to you, https://www.justgoride.co.uk/Routes/11816 and if you click OS maps to the right it'll show which bits are actually offroad.
The whole ride is 80km but maybe you could pick parts of it for inspiration. If you click explore on that site and then select offroad there's a few more to the north of there, and the south.
