I'm going to be working around NW Leeds and rumour has it there's some not bad riding around there for post-work jaunts. Anyone got any recommendations?

Duh. I meant East. I'll try that loop- I've got a new GPS arriving this week so should be able to make use of it, cheers.

well from thorpe park you can be in temple newsam in 5mins.

this little loop would be ok, Avenew wood has some cheeky trails, both sides of the path

link wont work, but its not hard to find stuff, cant get lost as well

Race bike, theres nothing around east leeds that needs long travel.

Actually what you need is something mud proof, east leeds mud is sticky and gloopy, Temple Newsham has its own special kind of gloop this time of year.

yer no need for long travel, there is a short bike track (250m) with a few log drops, table tops, bearm etc if you want to add a little bit of fun
