We're staying between Grange and Cartmel at the weekend and I've been given the pass to take my bike.

Can anyone recommend any off-road routes around there?

I've read about the Cartmel Fell Loop, but can't find any mapped routes.

Cartmel Fell isn't actually at Cartmel - it's about 6 miles away as the crow flies.

Get a 1:25k OS map of the area. There are loads of bridleways, green lanes etc around Cartmel especially to the North including the Cistercian Way which can all be linked together with a few quiet country lanes. We holiday between Cartmel and Newby Bridge each Easter and I always take a bike and just go and explore with the OS map.

Depends what sort of riding you enjoy - if you love gnarrr then look elsewhere. There is some beautiful countryside that most people visiting the Lakes never bother with so much quieter.
