You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
With the nice weather i thought i might go for a gentle pootle on friday and ride the Avebury to Streatley bit of the Ridgeway. With the weather the way it is i would prefer to carry to ditch the camelbak and run one or two bottles.
To this end, i found the following which lists taps and locations, just wondering if any are out of service, and how easy it is to find them currently?

I am assuming the ground is fairly dry?
It's bone dry and rutted. Don't know about the taps.
the ground is rock hard and dusty...scarily so.
Take sunglasses, the chalk bits can be nearly painful with the sun at the wrong angle
Can’t help on the taps but http://courthill.org.uk/
does basic food etc and is just off ridgeway above letcombe Regis
Wayland's Smithy area near the farm that's on the Ridgeway itself has a tap. It's on the N side of the track there, and just under halfway along the western half I think. Others often listed on the RW path nearer Streatley are out of use as far as I've seen but I haven't x-reffed with the list you posted. I use the tap at Waylands, then on the east half, Goring shops or the church nearby at South Stoke. There's a tap at the golf club and the church above Grims Ditch also (just looked, listed in your link as the church at Nuffield).
I'd take 2 x full size bottles anyway, maybe swap one for a 1.5l squash bottle. Drink your fill when stopping to refill again and that's usually enough, but it's felt very hot and dry there on past summer days, prob the white road effect.
