Hello all,

A few of us are thinking about riding the Ridgeway this weekend, Goring to Avebury, anyone know what conditions are like?

Muddy/okay on that stretch? Aany info/intelligence much appreciated!

Cheers,

John

I'm half a mile away and it's just stopped raining!

Forecast looks dry for the rest of the week so I'd say it will be wet in the usual places. Which is pretty unhelpful 🙂 but the usual places (for the middle section around Wantage at least) are limited to a few puddles.

Conditions should be fairly good I'd imagine as with the exception of above the bits round here are fairly dry and fast.

Let me know if you need anything more

I did it about a month ago and all but a very few bits were good and fast, just a few puddles and little mud. Also live close by, and although we've had some showery days recently, I reckon it will be fine for the weekend.

It's worth taking a bell btw, I got bored of hollering at people.

Just be wary on the chalky and clay bits and the Chiltern roots and it will ride well.
