My wife has decided she quite likes cycling after all but prefers on the road. She's planning the C2C next summer with some friends. She thinks she couldn't stand a full on road bike with drops but as she's currently riding around on a standard 26" mtb with slicks on I reckon a more road based bike with flat bars might be the thing. The Ridgeback Flight series looks ok to me, they do a female specific one (lighter than the higher specced disc braked ones) and they sell them in our LBS.
I thought about a CX bike (I have one as my 'road' bike) but converting to flat bars is a right faff.
Any other suggestions/experiences?
Take her to see the Flight. If she likes it don't mess about, just buy it.
Although while you're in the shop you could always get her to look a more upright road bike before deciding, so you can at least say you explored the options.
He he. Probably the best advice I've ever read on here - thanks 🙂
