hi all,

I have a work trip to Doncaster, will be staying overnight and will have the afternoon to ride on Tuesday 9th Nov - anyone got any good suggestions for a couple of hours blast fairly locally? I am with Garmin, so gpx files are good, as is anyone willing and able to join me and show me round of course!

Steetley Quarry is very local it is between sprotbrough and conisbrough so can be easily ridden to and back from.
info here http://www.moredirt.com/trail/United-Kingdom_Yorkshire--Humberside/Steetley-Quarry/347

Other than that I usually head into sheffield for a blast on Parkwood Spring or Lady Cannings.

I'm more of a trail/xc rider than downhill and jumping though!

You can head over to Steetley Quarry and ride around the woods that are more XC, or around the River Don (next to the quarry) with Sprotbrough Falls (little waterfall) and the boat Inn pub as a resting stop and take in the scenery.
Parkwood Springs is good for a quick blast it is basically a large pump track down the side of a hill, but it is about a 40 minute drive into Sheffield to get to.

Then there is Rother Valley country park in Rotherham (again about 40 mins away)£5 for parking but there are marked cycle routes.

There is also Greno/Wharncliffe which is pretty close to the M1 junctions so a bit less faff

Greno - Fully signed/built trails - red\black (mostly red)about 30-45 mins to do a whole lap

Wharncliffe - Natural - bit of everything but it is more a matter of find your own adventure!
