Anyone have a Ribble Endurance? I'm swithering between the options, I like the integrated bars but also fancy Di2, unfortunately this would bust my bike scheme voucher. Reviews seem positive and theres not much else out there value wise. Any suggestions (up to £3k)? And anyone wish the tell there experience with the Endurance?

Not much out there? I just went for an endurance road bike, and it seemed like it was the hot market segment because every manufacturer had one.

I got a Cube Attain GTC, my mate got a Giant Defy, I was originally looking at the Ribble or the Boardman SLR. Too many for me to even look at.

I would totally recommend the Cube by the way, but they are quite pricey now thanks to Brexit I think. But I am very very glad I got one with dedicated mudguards.

I've also been drooling over the SL and with just 7 months till my 50th need to act. I'm stuck between upgrading the wheels or going Di2. Similar budget

I more meant not much out there to compare or with the same value. I've had a Cube in the past and it kinda left me cold. It was and aluminium CX bike, quite low key and no frills. Did like the look of the bikes in a recent race, Paris Nice I think it was, which surprised me being a Cube. I'll have another gander but I've almost convinced myself that the Ribble is where my money is going.

I'm leaning towards the di2 as I reckon the wheels will be an easier upgrade later on. I'm hoping to contact Ribble today to see if I can pay cash towards the integrated cockpit.

I'd get it ordered just now mind you if you want it for your 50th. Currently looking around August for delivery.

I know everyone recommends what they own - but check out Dolan Bikes - I got a DR-1 during lockdown - they have discontinued it but the new options look good

In that case I agree, the Ribble was good value, and so was the Boardman. I went to buy one of those two then got put off by the wait time for the Ribble and lack of stock on Boardman so I started a thread on here asking for stock tips and ended up with the Cube. I must admit I don't feel like it's low-key or no frills though, seems just like all the other bikes in what is essentially a low-key category. But then, you do have a higher budget than I did.

I have Di2 and mechanical gear bikes, Di2 is on the summer bike. It’s a great system, smooth, quiet, just what you want really. But I don’t miss it when on the wet weather bike which just has 105.
I’m a bit of a poser and prefer my bikes to look good, so I’d go with the better wheels and the integrated bars. Horses for courses though, completely understand why you’d want to go to Di2.

The di2 doesn't make much practical sense by all accounts. It's seems to be that it's very nice but so is regular ultegra. It's something that I'm very unlikely to upgrade to though, and if really like to try it on a bike, whereas the wheels seem a simpler prospect.

Yeah Di2 is weird, I first tried it on a hire bike in Spain. Was amazed how good it felt considering all it does is change gear, honestly I was blown away and said I’d never have another mechanical gear bike again.....but being honest normal Ultegra is absolutely fine.
I agree that it’s much easier to upgrade wheels. I’d be very unlikely to upgrade from mechanical to electric group set, but wheels I do fairly regularly.

Fancier wheels will likely make more difference in terms of feel to the bike - how it accelerates / how it feels throwing into corners etc. However Di2 is just a ‘feel good’ thing for me on my bike.

I had mechanical 105 and I just don’t like the way the shifters work - and it’s always a bit more effort to shift from small chainring to large on mechanical road shifting. Di2 is a light tap of the button which gears / ways you’re shifting. It just makes me feel better about my bike.

If you could upgrade one or the other it’s probably easier for you to change wheels down the line rather than go mechanical to Di2. I did the conversion myself and it was a faff measuring and ordering the correct parts / length of wires and then fitting it all internally to my frame (Cannondale Caad12 disc). I suspect manually doing Di2 is quite an expensive way of doing it vs upgrading as oe from Ribble.

Guess it also depends on what the standard wheels are like ha the upgraded option ones - is there a big weight saving / are the upgrade wheels what you’d pick if you were buying aftermarket?

The standard wheels will be askiums. The upgraded pair would be to what looks like a fairly standard set of 40 or 60mm carbon rims. They would be absolutely more than adequate for my needs. But I really need to move on some of my old kit (lol), this will appease my wife and garner some funds for a nice set of wheels, a pair of Hunt or Scribes, though I see Zipp have a more budget friendly offering these days too which would make it a bit more special. In fact if I can shift enough old kit before I get the bike I may be able to upgrade the wheels at the same time as purchase. Ribble have told me I can use the full value of the voucher and pay for anything over the £3k with card.
