After a succession of knocks to my ribcage, was wondering if anyone could reccommend a rib protector for biking? I don't do body armour but after yet another agonising week, I think this is one I'm going top have to stump up for.

Have had a look at some for Karting, are any suggestions for some MTB specific stuff?

cheers

Have suffered from many broken ribs myself so looked in to this last year, all the pressure suits etc have nothing to protect your ribs from the side, the area that gets exposed to danger when you assume the superman position!!! Gave up my search and now just try and land with my arms against my ribcage

I've got a Forcefield back protector to wear under motorcycle leathers and it's quality kit.

Rib protection's got to be pretty difficult though since it's a momentum injury more than an impact/blunt force injury? I've broken a few ribs in bike crashes and I'm not sure how effective my pressure suit would have been in those crashes.

Knox used to, and maybe still do, make a standalone chest protector that was designed to be hooked onto the straps of their back protectors- maybe could do the same for Camelbaks.

Had a few knocks to the ribs lately so invested in a Troy Lee 5900 chest protector.
Has back, shoulder and chest plates. Chest plates have panels that wrap around to the back plates.
It's light, well ventilated and panels can be removed with a hex key.
Doesn't look too bulky under a DH jersey either.
