hi. i would like to remove bar mounted remote lockout and have crown adjuster/lock out ie non remote version. Is this a simple diy task or do i need to go to a service place and how much to have this done?? Cheers
The easiest thing to do is to swap with someone who's got a non remote one - it's very easy - just undo the cartridge from the fork (large spanner/socket) and plug in the replacement (maybe a slight oil top up too)
The alternative is to remove the cartridge and then unhook the spring that moves the blue dial at the top back to the 'open' position so that you can set it where ever you want . Peter Poddy on here did a guide on that if you can find it.
I've got a Reba (same cartridge) without remote lockout that I'd like to swap to a remote one if you'd be interested though. Drop me an email if so (address in my profile)
