Revolution is proper hardcore riding especially when damp! Never been BPW but it's supposed to be good

Having spent 2 days on a DH bike at BPW, go to Revolution.

Yeah from what I have read bpw is more trail centre trails, i.e. Small bike

very different beasts I'd say. Whats your skill level like? Rev is pretty full on compared to BPW.
If you're pretty competant on a dh bike I'd go for rev - its a great spot to ride, bpw is certainly more approachable.
If its a really wet day I'd say go to bpw, rev is pretty full on after rain.

Either are great fun though.

BPW has a lot of different trails, and are great fun. A DH bike is a bit overkill for most (all?) of the tracks but it's still good.

Revolution is much more technical. There is a jump line, some natural more technical rooty lines, and steeper terrain.

Personally, if it was very wet I would probably head to BPW (or even Antur Stiniog of you want more dh stuff), if it was dry I would go to Revolution.

Revs for proper dh tracks. Its great there. I've ridden it in the wet and its still awesome fun even when my poor amount of skill runs out!

I haven't had the chance to try Rev, but know BPW well, as others have said BPW is not a DH venue really, people do ride DH bikes there and there are some meaty lines where they recommend a big bike - but it was designed and built with big trail bikes in mind - all mountain, Enduro, whatever you want to call it, 90% of the bikes you see on a typical day at BPW are 5"-6" travel FS bikes.

Revolution in the wet is the only time on the DH bike I've felt nervous before a run. Changes every time I go, great place.

Revs. Way better.

I live 20mins away from BPW and have been there three times. It's meh. Ok for tourism I guess, but far, far better stuff to ride in Wales (most without uplift, yes)

None of you buggers ever offer to show us non-locals where these majestic trails are though.

Revolution is better than BPW and more suited to a dh bike but then again there are trails close by that are better than the ones at Revolution. It's who you know locally and if you ask nicely!

I really like BPW. The trails, anyway. The cafe, whilst capable of serving good food has more often served me rubbish so we always take our own now.

bpw is still great fun as its only 30mins away for me. I will say though they need to add more showers/toilets. Considering how many people are there on a weekend 1 toilet and 1 shower is not enough.

BPW is good fun. No need for a DH bike but I'd give it a go if I had one. Take a pack lunch the cafe is beyond crap on a busy day.

I've ridden Revolution and BPW, both on a little bike, and Revolution every single day of the week. No comparison at all. I was bored at BPW quite a lot, but never at Revolution.

Weeksy - not hard these days with strava to discover them yourself. Swansea Valley has some awesome riding, from fresh cut loam to natural decents.

+1 for Revs - awesome place. Proper full on DH riding, especially if it has rained in the last 6 months 🙂

If you have the option of staying over and riding a 2nd day Llangollen (One Giant Leap) is also (imo) head and shoulders over BPW.

Revo gets my vote. Bpw I find really boring especially the flow trails. They seem good for beginners but it's not proper riding. The blacks are a bit more interesting but still not a patch on revo.

Another vote for revolution. I found BPW quite fun on a hardtail but really didn't enjoy it last time I was there on a dh bike.

Re. Revo and mud. It's nowhere near as bad as it used to be. A lot of the tracks have gone down to bed rock now. Don't get me wrong it's still slippy and muddy but not a boggy mud bath. Magic Mary's front and back and you're fine.

Black Mountain Centre, also. Great fun. Get's very slippy there in the wet though, but still prefer it to BPW, and a tractor for the uplift 😀
