I just bought a revolt 3 to see if I liked going on the non bouncy stuff. Having nothing to compare it to (never owned a roadie bike before) it rides quite nice. But... after the first 10 miles it has developed a really irritating squeak every time to turn the bars that seems to be coming from the steerer tube. Never had rigid carbon forks before so is this them and the steerer tube just bedding in? Should I worry, take it back, apologise to the MTB gods and never return to the tarmac? Or just leave it and it will go away?
The bars turn nice and smooth, it's just really annoying and I've only covered 20 miles on it.

Try a squirt of GT85 or WD40 around headset.
Usually rubber seal on headset that makes a squealy noise.
Thanks,
Max

Mine did the same! Remove stem, drop the steerer a bit, grease lower and reassemble. No more squeak. Great bikes. I recon you could get nearly 2" tyres in it.

Thanks - I'll drop that steerer then. Can't be bothered to take it back and wait for that. Glad it's not just mine then. Been out on it again this morning - hit 32 mph! Not used to this kind of thing. Seems like a nice bike. Locking it away until the weekend now - better do some work...

Revolt headset is pretty much just two bearings slotted into the headtube. There don't appear to be any seals on the bottom and the top just has the standard split ring thing to hold everything tight.

Mine's never squeaked but riding in mud and wet over two winters, the bottom bearing went after a year and a bit.

Disasemble and grease, I'd avoid the sprays personally.

Revolt is a brilliant bike. Got mine back in 2014 and still enjoy it.

My revolt squeak was the rubber seal on the rear wheel bearings

Sorted really easily once I let the LBS have it
