So my 5 year old Turner Czar has a crack in the top rocker. The model has moved on to a different design and Dave may be struggling to get the factory to get an original rocker done. (That's a whole other story). However my bike has done 12000 miles and is still in great condition.

Question, is it possible to get the rocker replicated ? It's cut from a one piece aluminium block with the look of it.

Is there any industry/service that could copy this or does it has to have a mold made and this is just not possible in one of quantities?

Sounds like it's machined. You could have one copied but I doubt it would be cheap.

Betd used to make modified links for some frames. Could be worth talking to them.

It's easily doable but it'll be costly. Minimum order from our cnc guys is 200 + vat add to that design time of at least 2 hours means you'd be looking at minimum 350 plus materials.

If Turner cannot supply the part, they might be interested in providing you with the manufacturing files meaning you'd not need to reverse engineer it.

Email betd, they already produce aftermarket rockers for some bikes.

The frame be getting near end of life. Of course it can be fixed but it might be time to move on.

Could try casting it?  I'm not a metallurgist, so this might end up being brittle and snapping, or it might end up exploding due to moisture in the mould and severely burning you.

It can be done. I made one for my Intense 6.6 because they'd stopped making them and there was no stock:

Well that wouldn't necessarily be out of the way for me. Frames are hard to get and 2450.

And we have two bikes.

This is going through my head but it's still in great condition and I'm not sure what to replace it with. Turner are now direct and even though I'm dealing with them supplies have dried up.

I need a 100mm xc 29, preferably with DW+link.

Before going any further i'd be checking every weld on the bike very closely, generally new parts and ££ have a detrimental effect on older parts 😉

Personally, I'd not worry about welds on a czar. 😉

Actually, scrap that, I'd be very worried if I found a weld on a czar.

You could try someone like  http://www.carbonwasp.com/

They make carbon linkages using 3D Printing as a template. No idea on cost but probably not dissimilar to CNC stuff.

It may be worth a check over but it's a carbon frame with metal rockers.

I was gonna say that it can be done, because I modelled one up for stevied with some pics he sent me.

I would offer my services to model it, but I don't really have any spare time to fit this kind of thing in anymore...

Got any better pics? Trying to see how many setups and how tricky to measure

I don't know about that. That's not a bad shout.

Not sure who I speak to about that.

TIG it up, add a bit more material for extra strength, then get it re-heat treated and re-anodised!  (it'll weigh 10g more than it used too, but won't crack again....)

Sounds good but I need someone to hold my hand and make it happen. Can pay of course!
