Hey Folks
So I'm about to push the button on buying a Reverb from merlin cycles.
For £180 it doesnt come with a bleed kit.
So how often do reverbs need to be bled?
Depends on how hard you are on it. I'm heavy, mine tends to need some sort of attention once every few months and goes back to SRAM once a year. You should be able to get a bleed kit without any problems though.
Ive had mine for a year and 6 months now. Its used twice a week at least, all year round.
Never needed to bleed it.
Sent it off for a service a while back - came back saying it was fine, didnt need cleaning and was not worn.
Thanks for the answers guys.
What are the servicing costs like?
Bleed kit from epic solutions when you need is much cheepness (compared to the sram kit).
Thanks for the referral Messiah. You can check out our Reverb bleed kit here:

Is the reverb bleed kit the same as a avid brake bleed kit? The syringes look very sinilar
You probably won't need to bleed on installation, but you might.
I'll sell you a bleed kit if you like anyway. Got a spare one due to having my bikes nicked and buying another Reverb.
Seals are very different between the avid syringes and the oil syringes, not sure if the dot fluid syringes could be used with oil but I say that the oil syringes would be destroyed by dot fluid. If you leave dot fluid o-rings or internals in fork oil they swell up to twice there size so it would probably destroy the avid syringes as well.
I've used my Reverb bleed kit to bleed my Avid brakes - no problems and no swelling. Made sure to give everything a good wash quickly after using the Dot fluid and it seems fine to me.
Haven't ever bled the Reverb though, there's no need to do it routinely at all.
Our kits use the same syringes. For the amount of time it takes to bleed a brake or seat post you will not experience any swelling. We certainly haven't heard of it. However it is good practice to wash through all syringes and tubes with water immediately after use to ensure a good bleed kit lifespan.
It is also not advised to use the same kit for the Reverb and brakes for cross contamination reasons. e.g. Suspension fluid in your Elixirs can't be good. But then we've had people say they've used them after washing them trough thoroughly without issues.
