I'm in the market for a reverb and was hoping somebody could help me tell the difference between these two (other than a years release and £100)

and

The weight the spec seem to be almost identical. Am i missing something?

One has no bleed kit and probably a few other clips and things that come in the box - basically it's an OEM post.

Also, the 2011 posts had some reliability problems, which were solved for 2012 - most (not all) 2012s has a black collar. The 2012 pictured there has the silver collar, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's 2011.

I see, so the main differences are the drop (100m vs. 125mm) and some reliabilty on the older model.

Neither come with fluid and the bleed kit.

Think I might take a punt on the cheaper one.

Thanks,

so why not just buy the cheaper one?
you can always send it back for free if it's not 125mm drop. Nothing lost 🙂

Different hose strain collar on the older one where the hose enters the top of the post - newer one is less likely to snap of the hose barb fitting if you snag it in a crash. I did that to the older one, and it's very easy to replace with the newer part and then you effectively have a new post. You do need the bleed kit to fit it though. I also think there was a few people who had air leakage problems on early ones - but I had no issues with mine. I've got a newer one, and said old one, and can't tell the difference in operation.

I rang up CRC, it is the 100mm one.

MMMMmmmmmmmmmm.....really want one, but no point settling so might hold out for the 125mm.

(there's one on ebay for 120mm - which I didn't think even existed)
