[Closed] Reverb Stealth Warranty?

Anyone want to take a stab of where I stand with this?

Bought a new RS Reverb Stealth from Evans about 14 months or so ago I think, its more than a year anyway.

Just noticed a bug gouge down the back of the shaft, the seal seems to have eaten it. I think it's a bit too deep for just a new seal, it's got teeth!

I've sourced a new top tube online from a US supplier but by the time I buy that, a top seal and service kits it's more than the cost of the thing.

Do RS warranty seal failure or it that a service thing, and if so what's their warranty? A year or longer?

Its 2 years, but if the post is more than a year old (like yours) then they'll be looking for evidence it was serviced I would expect. Gouges are normally bushes exploding, which is a service part.

Thanks, I'll give Evans a whirl then, they can only say no I guess.

Reverb warranty is usually pretty pain-free- weirdly I sent mine in with something I could have fixed myself in about an hour, but figured it was under warranty so I'd get them to do it, they send me a brand new one in retail box- talk about overkill.

Little bit of an update if anyone cares.

Emailed Evans over-night at their customer service address (as per their website)

Got a reply this morning "sorry, you need to email the warrant returns address" shame they couldn't forward it for me or shock-horror work internaly to avoid extra hassle for their customer (I'd go batshit if someone in work did this to one of our customers).

Anyway, email them the same email...

Got a reply, "sorry that's not us, you need to contact the the suspension service team" but I've got to phone them.

Just rang out at 16:40, did the same at 18:00 but I guess they're closed now.

Will try Afan tomorrow...

Should have used a proper shop.

Wow, that really does suck. They were much harder to deal with sorting my helmet out than wiggle were. Yay for bricks and mortar shops.

Sure a bit of grit hasn't got into it?

I don't think it's grit, it's a bit wild for that.

On further inspection it's not as deep as I feared, I'll probably get away with a bit of emry cloth a new top cap and a rebuild, but hopefully Evans will do the biz for me.

Got to speak to the right person at last today, pretty helpful, seems to think it's a needle bearing failure and will be replaced subject to inspection.

I can drop it into my local store too which makes life a bit easier.

Didn't think Reverbs had a needle bearings. That looks like the bushing in the top cap has completely worn out.

There aren't any needle bearings, or bearings of any sort in a Reverb, just bushes.
I'd say it needed a service some time ago when it first started to feel a bit sticky, but it's a bit beyond that now.
Having said that, knowing how good Sram tech are, they'll still probably warranty it, as they do seem to with reverbs even if it is lack of maintenance.
