You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
A friend of mine, let's call him Iceman, has just bought a 150mm drop Reverb Stealth that he wants to fit to his Mondraker Dune. He needs the 150mm as can't get seat low enough on the 125mm.
His original plan was that he could route the hose around the shock, as the bottom of the seat tube is open where it ends just above the shock in line with the weld you can see on the below picture.
What he's found is, that while the post is fine in length, the position that he needs to have it in to get the right height would mean that the connectamajig hits the shock, so there isn't any room for positioning on this frame.
Seeing as the connectamajig doesn't bend out the way or anything, does anyone know if it's possible to do away with it and use a standard, shorter connector which I believe the pre-2014 reverbs had, so that there isn't so much extension, and where you might get such a fitting?
If that's possible then he could just disconnect the hose at the lever and route it that way.
Cheers.
Yep, you can remove the connectormajig and use a standard stealth reverb hose.
Yes as you say, the current connectormajig are pants though, although a new one is on the way which is supposed to be a lot better

Whats up with them Loco?
How is he going to make sure that the shock doesn't rub against the hose?

Good call. I guess he'll have to cable tie it to the side somehow....or drill the frame like I'm going to do with mine. 😀

Do you sell all the fittings to get rid of the connectamajig Mr Loco?
Yep just standard barb & strain relief.
They don't do what they're supposed to I.E mean you don't have to re bleed the remote system after you remove it.
