I've serviced my reverb several times before and never had any problems but this time it wont lock, it'll compress the full length then return, it holds pressure.
I've stripped it down and redone it several times and now I'm running out of reverb fluid so maybe only got one more try.
Anybody got some advice?

Is the trigger button returning well? If not the poppet valve base has or should have an air pocket underneath it that I'm guessing acts as the return spring,so that could be compromised somehow (bad O rings, fluid in it ) .
Could also be a problem with trigger or hose itself if its been kinked/internally broken and not allowing fluid to move freely/loosing pressure.

The last couple of rides my reverb has been strangely self activating and has lowered itself a few times,I had to set the speed dial slower so the valve doesn't ease open .

Poppet valve sticking is the most likely cause.

Cheers for the help.
I'll give the poppet valve a good looking over.
The post is still compressing with or without the lever attached, it should be stuck up with no lever, right? Which made me think it's the post internals going wrong.
It's a stealth A2 post and has the new style B2 IFP and was wondering if this needs to be set in at 50mm or the normal 30mm as there is a bit of size difference between them.

If its an a1 with the new ifp you set the ifp to the normal ifp setting not the new deeper one
The extra depth it the difference between the old and new seal head
