I’m gonna give up with this hellish god forsaken sliding bastard of annoyance. Bleed the system more times than I’m willing to admit, its 100% air free, air pressure set to 250psi, cable safely routed through the frame kink free. 1x remote was set to the slowest speed whilst bleeding, now the post will only drop when set to fastest speed and the return rate is slower than a 90 year old experiencing viagra for the first time. Any ideas what the issue is?
If the post only drops when the lever is set to the fastest it sounds like there is air in the system, the valve in the seatpost is just opening, hence very slow to raise/lower.
When bleeding as you push from seatpost-lever screw the speed adjuster in and out until no bubbles come out, finish with it on full slow, activate the lever until no bubbles come out. Make sure the bleed port on the lever is the high point on the lever.
If you fitted a new 1x remote to replace the old lever did you cut the hose back? Is the barb-body tight? It can leak if damaged.
Warranty job?
My first Reverb was awesome; no trouble whatsoever...until I damaged it. Replacement seat post had similar woes to you. I'm waiting to receive it back from SRAM who've replaced some internal parts. Could just be a duffer you've got.
Any ideas what the issue is?
It's a reverb
HTH
It does sound like there's a small amount of air in there.
I'e got 2. One drops about 2mm and the other drops about 5mm. The one that drops 5mm is 3 years old but I'm scared to get it serviced in case it doesn't last.
Assuming that you've got rid of the air, give the bleed syringe a bit of a squeeze before you disconnect it to get as much oil as possible into the remote and ensure that the button is fully popped out.
