Hi,

I’m after a bit of advice,
Just upgraded the remote on my B1 reverb tonthe 1x remote bled as per Sram
Video, now having a nightmare with the operation of it , almost feels like it’s binding as it going down, if you sit front part of the seat it goes down ok but if you sit to the rear or centre of the seat it will not move ?

Any advice is greatly appreciated

Thanks

PaulH

Can only suggest another bleed if the only change is the remote. Does the speed adjustment do anything.

Speed adjustment works, it’s almost like a bush has worn, but it was working fine before I swapped the remote, think it going to be a complete bleed and se what happens,
Just didn’t know if req another bleed would give these symptoms ?

Have you done the seat clamp up a bit tight? Must have removed it to bleed the remote if stealth

Needs a service, you probably just didn't notice before but now you have a new thing related to it the niggles are noticed...

It may well need a service but I still think it is worth trying another bleed first. To me it has all the hallmarks of needing to be bled. Don’t forget to set the speed adjuster to slow pre bleed...

If it's binding on the way down then it may need a service anyway. It's actually very easy to do a basic service and no special tools are required. I take mine apart now and again to clean all the crap out from inside (it's surprising how much gets in there) and regrease everything. I also undo the seal now and again to get some grease under it. Makes the post feel like new again.

It might be worth doing this before you bleed the post again.

I would agree it sounds like it needs a service, especially if the speed adjust is working. If it's binding like that it's nothing to do with opening the poppet valve (which a lever bleed would sort), and everything to do with increasing friction at the bushes (which a basic service will sort).

I'm not sure about the no special tools required claim (Mine are both A2 and do need a set of vice jaws to hold the small internal shaft) but it is fairly straightforward. Make sure you:

1) Have at least the basic rebuild kid (~£10 or £12)
2) Take the seal head off and give it a good clean, and soak the foam ring on it/repack with grease - the instructions I have don't say to do this for some reason.
3) Have decent circlip pliers. I had to upgrade!

Spoke to TF Tuned this morning (very helpful people)
And they think it could well be bleed issue, and have advised to try a couple more, fingers crossed then that all it is.

Thanks again for all the input.

TFTuned probably know their stuff better than me. I once did a full stripdown before finally realising I had a small leak in the hose.

Probably worth cleaning it up inside anyway, though. Mine seemed to work fine before first strip, but it really worked a lot better afterwards and was fairly worn inside.

I have this problem too, so following keenly. Even sent it back to SRAM, who returned it saying it was fine. When I swapped the post from one bike to another it worked fine for a week or so and then back to pressure on the front to make it drop. Got so used to it I don't really notice it now.

@paulh110

Did you ever rectify this? Mine doing the same since fitting a 1x remote.

Yes, it was all down to the bleed not being good enough,
I take it you have the new bleed connection?
Once you’ve done the bleed on the remote, you need to make sure you’re pushing down on the plunger when you shut it off. And it should all be fine,
Hope this helps, let me know how you get on.

I've followed the instructions on sram YouTube video exactly but still not right. Was fine with the button but with 1x I have to sit on the nose of the saddle to depress the post. If I sit in the middle or at the back of ree saddle I have to bounce to get it to drop.
I have spoken to sram who mentioned removing the lever. Cut hose end then use a 13mm spanner to remove the barb completely from the lever, thread the barb onto the hose, then install the lever back on then bleed so I'll try this. Mines been like this since February but now starting to annoy me more!

I finally managed to get to the bottom of the reverb issue. I did a 50 hour service as wasn't sure if it was a bleed or sticking post issue, inside grease alit grubby but nothing horrendous. Top and bottom bushes fine but replaced bottom and new top cap which was scratched after a tumble.

Took the 1x remote off. Trimmed cable so it's got a fresh end, Held hose with shimano clamps and wound the remote back on tight then it carries out a bleed.
Working as good as new
