Just serviced my year old Reverb Stealth (150mm) post - did a full strip-down as per the SRAM tech guide .pdf. Followed the instructions to the letter and done a full bleed twice, yet the shaft is returning REALLY slowly (on the fastest return setting). On the slowest setting it doesn't return at all!
Everything appears fine, the post is set at 250psi, even used the Slick Honey grease as SRAM recommend and didn't get loads of air come out when I did the bleed, so puzzled on what to do next.... When the lever is set to fastest return, the push button returns fine, when it's set to slowest, the push button doesn't return at all.
I'm guessing the system needs more fluid? But how/why if I've done everything as per the instructions!
Thanks-in-advance.
Probably just needs bleeding again, it took me a few attempts before I got every last bit of air out.
Another vote for more bleeding. Symptoms don't quite match but I once had something similar on mine.. I had put the remote back on too close to the brake and the plunger was catching near the end of its' stoke and not going quite all the way in. A mm twist of the remote and all was well.
The push button definitely has enough clearance to return. Has anyone else played about with the order of doing the bleed? Read about removing the post syringe last, and prior to removing it, pushing/pulling the syringe, and also pressing the remote button at the same time.
Any thoughts from the morning crew?!
Sure you used 2.5 wt?
Final bleed should be done with speed adjuster wound out in slowest position, if you've not done it this way the post will be slow to return.
Bleed, or internals seals/settings a bit off.
I had the same issue with mine. First bleed had the adjuster at the wrong setting while bleeding, so it took ages to return on fastest setting. Bled again correctly, only returned if speed adjuster was half way towards fastest setting. Thought there was an issue with it, so sent it to Wiggle for investigation and they refunded me for the whole post (which I found a little odd).
