I bought a second hand reverb post and had apparently just been serviced. After just a few rides it drops almost 10cm when pushed down or sat on. I've checked the air pressure and bleed but no cure. Does anyone know how to fix this seems quite a common problem??
2nd hand there'll be no warranty, so it'll be a full strip and rebuild, which is a right ball ache. kits are available and its a matter of following the steps. how long you had it? maybe contact the seller and ask if they have the receipt for the service
Reverbs have two bleed steps. Sometimes just the remote will sort, but if not he post will need bleeding too, which is a bit more involved!
Strip and rebuild will have it working like new though

You can pay for a service, but i think that's around 80-90 pounds (+40-50 pounds extra if the top cap is needed ).
Thats the problem I don't want to spend money on different kits and find out non of them work and also the fact I haven't a clue what I'm doing. Think it might have to be a new one if it's going to be 80 quid to fix.
All it takes is for a major component to have a scratch/score/wear where a seal seats and the post is beyond economical repair. I'd sell it as spares and put it down to a bad experience.
Basic service kit sorts it 9/10 times.
Change the seals, the bush in the lower seal head & rebuild.
£40 labour + seal kit @ £9.99 & job done.
Plus the price of the specific tools required to do the job...

Also the only thing you REALLY need is the IFP height tool if it's a stealth.

Would you sell the post to me as spares? I've got a broken one id like to fix but I lost a few pieces. Was hoping to salvage some from another broken one.
This post now pops back up when it's lowered too now. Is it dead or can it be sold?
