Mrs hoppys reverb needs to go back under warranty to the shop. Is it likely to get accepted/ destroyed if found by royal mail if we send it with them? If not who is the courier of choice for the stw forumites?

I've sent/received droppers and suspension forks via ParcelForce/RM and never had any problems.

Surely they will never know? The postmaster/mistress asks what it is, you say 'just bicycle parts'.

They always ask what's in it when you post at my local post office. I guess if it's on the restricted list and you lie about it then they can probably seize/destroy/sell on eBay if they pick it out for scanning.

I don't know what's on the list but I sent a KS Lev several times with no issues. I did let all the air out every time though.

Nothing obvious on there, but I'm sure there wasn't there a big hoohaa a while back over shocks etc being deemed dangerous and being destroyed/sold..

Yep, that's what I was concerned about and a reverb still contains a high pressure air can. Would be pissed off if it was destroyed for the sake of sending it via someone else.

“Because the product is charged by filling with compressed air and whether it is full or not it is deemed a prohibited item under the above guidelines.“

They'll accept it, I've no doubt. Question is whether you can rely on them to deliver or return it. The odds are probably long but even so I'd find someone else

I didn't, because of said hoohaa. The company I bought from arranged a courier pick up when I raised the issues about sending via RM with them.

I'm normally a live life on the edge, dunk your biscuit twice kind of guy - but a Reverb was just too spendy for me to risk losing altogether.

Course if you bought it from the LBS you could have got them to deal with it....
Who do CRC/Wiggle/tweeks etc use to deliver their stuff?

Given they didn't have the bike we wanted in the size we needed that wasn't an option.

Have no issue sending with another courier was just interested in who to use to save time checking.

Strange thing with RM you can send a poisonous scorpion and a tarantula spider no problem so there you go but I still send shocks no problem.
