Hi everyone, I have a reverb seat-post which came with the bleed kit. Can i use this with the addition of some hose clamps to bleed some avid elixirs obviously using dot 5.1 as opposed to 2.5wt suspension oil the reverb uses?
Can't see much difference otherwise?
Thanks
Hugh
Despite them using the same fittings, don't. Even the tinyest trace of the wrong oil in your brakes can destroy the seals, this being both dangerous, and expensive to fix.
As Coatesy says....
The Avid kits uses BRAKE oil and the Reverb uses SUSPENSION oil, never the twain shall meet and let's face it the reverb needs every bit of help to make it reliable, putting micro traces of brake fluid won't do the seals any good.
I think you can buy a service kit for them with bleed kit, if you didn't get one with it?
