Anyone have any solutions to lack of space on your bars? I am forced to mount the reverb bar unit inside of the brake and shifter which means I have to almost take my hand off the grip to reach it - sooner or later this is going to result in a crash! I want to mount it closer but for some reason they choose to make the mount very wide - very bad design imo as it could easly be half the width and still strong enough. Has anyone customised theirs to make it more compact or come up with any other clever solutions?
Don't worry about it, I pretty much have to take my hand off the grip to reach the shifter for my front mech, the lockout for my fork, and the remote for my reverb. Why would I be using any of these if I'm riding something that could make me crash? I prefer keeping them out the way.
I have mine flipped upside down under the opposite side. I.e. it's supposed to go on the right on top of the bars, but mine is on the left under the bars. Much better there (at least for my setup) and feels more ergonomic. I don't have a front shifter any more, but previously I just used to run the shifter a bit further inboard to make way for the reverb (I was using the Reverb far more than the front shifter).
Having said that, I just bought one for the wife's bike and the Reverb lever nestles nicely where it's supposed to go, so I've left it there.
I agree though - there shouldn't be any reason why the Reverb lever is so unergonomic and takes up so much space. Other droppers are better in this regard - although not the DOSS, obviously, its lever looks ridiculous!
Disagree about not wanting to change seat height when the trail is rough. Obviously it depends where you live, but for me the big advantage of droppers is that you don't have to stop / slow down when it gets rough - I love having the lever on hand at all times.
I don' know my rockshox don't market the lever setup like this its much better

even better with avids

Well obviously you're never going to be raising the seat post when you're on something that could make you crash. And to lower the seatpost you have to sit down. If you're on something that could make you crash, you wouldn't want to sit down. It just takes a bit of looking ahead.
I had mine set up like this when I was using 3x10/2x10, not perfect but better...
what brakes/shifters are you using.

passtherizla - can't the reverb lever go between the grip and brake lever seems silly that far out
Yeah - I use mine all the time as I do a lot of trail center riding - I find I need to be able to react quickly as the terrain changes. Thats the whole point in the Reverb in the first place!
I already run it upside down on the left side (i.e under the bar) but can't squeeze it inboard of the shifter (Shimano SLX) as it interferes with the levers. To get the brake lever in the correct place I run it inboard of the shifter so if I rejiggle the shifter will end up absolutely miles away! May give it a shot though...
passtherizla - I'm being dumb here but I can't see how your shifter is mounted.. is it integrated with the brake mount? I'm using SLX lH shifter and Elixir brakes (no match maker 🙁 )

No it fouled the levers on the shifter. it was silly that far out but I could still use it without moving my hand from the grip, the grips in that photo ate very short.

Hope matchmakers/SLX shifter/formula RX brakes.
I bought a LHS reverb to mount underneath on the RHS and it's been a PITA. But I admit under the bars is better ergonomically than on top. I didnt really need to worry about damage as I have other bits higher up than the reverb remote.
the problem I have found is the angled bit where the cable comes out is right in the way. If you mount it next to the grips then it needs to sit in between the brake reservoir and the shifter which won't work with my shimano XT set up. I was never happy with my shifter position anyway so I ended up making my own shifter mounts that lower them down and are mounted to the brake clamp bolt.
Passtherizla, could you not have shaved a little material off the shift levers? That's what I did, means I can have everything pretty much where I want them. Will grab the photo later.
Well obviously you're never going to be raising the seat post when you're on something that could make you crash.
I don't buy that, going into or out of any section at high speed and using the remote could be very interesting if you have to move your hand.
Would be interested to see that legend, never even occurred to me to go shaving the sticks... it's not a problem anymore though as I have no shifter on the left.
I had not heard of Hope match makers, they seem like just the ticket. I have nasty plastic SLX shifters so easy enough to cut some off. hopefully problem solved - I'll let you know!

Yeah, I quite often find myself doing just that. I.e. it gets rough and you want the seat down - easier to slow down for a second, sit down and put the seat down than to struggle on with the seat high. YMMV of course.
If you're only putting the seat up and down at planned, convenient, times (E.g. at the top of a long climb) you're missing most of the benefit of a Reverb IMO.

A little overdue, but this is the current setup:

Some pretty fantastic options already posted; great ingenuity. But - and this is me as a committed reverb user - how often are you selecting the thing?
I like the fact that my gear shifters are separate. Maybe I need to rethink my ergonomics!?
C
tbh I'm using it more and more often. On tomorrows ride I'll certainly be using my dropper more than my front mech
I have a KS Lev instead of a Reverb, and the remote is mounted on the left of my 2x10 fatbike and 3x8 full suspension mtb.
I use front der << dropper < front der on both bikes.
