Hi.
I want to buy a Reverb seatpost, and am somewhat confused with the MMX clamp system.
I also am putting SRAM guide brakes on the bike, not got yet and will run SRAM X0 2x10.
What reverb will I need to buy to ensure I get the mounting for the gears? Looking at CRC it looks like this is not on it?
Chatting to a mate who has one he has said it came with a big bag of bits, which he had no idea what half of it was for.
What would I need to have to run all 3 on one clamp, as it looks like the reverb clamp is the special part?
What is the opinion of right or left, my forks are not remote.
Thanks
Gummikuh

This should clear everything out, I hope:

Brake gets sandwiched between the Reverb clamp, which replaces the original brake clamp. Lower part of the Reverb clamp has a (detachable) metal bit - shiny silver in the picture - where you can attach the shifter.

Left/right depends on personal preference.
If you were using the Reverb remote as a stand-alone item (without shifter and brake), you would have had an option to mount the remote reversed, underneath the bars (i.e. RH remote mounted upside-down on the left).

Thank-you, can't open the picture, but I get the gist.
But when I purchase the reverb, does it need to be MMX or will it come with the gear attachment in the kit?
Are the CRC ones likely to be 2016 or older?
Is there any difference?

if you want gears and brakes all in one you'll need the MMX version - you can only run it the right way up, so you'll need the above option for the side you want, probably L/H MMX. Theres no specific difference between 2015 & 2016 AFAIK. Some changes have occured along the way, but mostly cosmetic and not specifically 2015v2016.

PS - if you cant get the MMX version at a good price, buy a non-MMX and drop me a message. I have hundreds of MMX adaptors.

I'm fairly confident it will have the gear attachment even if there is no MMX designation in the name (mine had it, bought from actionsports).

Given that CRC reuses the same product page ( http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/ro/en/rockshox-reverb-stealth-seatpost/rp-prod84857 ) between product generations, it is hard to say which year you'll get.

I have my hardtail all MMX but wish it was on a separate clamp and then under bar because the remote gets damaged easily. Two crashes plus various bits of upside down repair work means a couple of visits to the menders plus a new remote!
In the end I went to Trickstuff - german website with very helpful chaps who make lots of clamps and adapters (plus other clever stuff). Also genius for putting shimano and Sram stuff together - used their device to put SRAM Xo shifter onto XT brakes on the FS bike. http://www.trickstuff.de/en/
