i've got a 2008 U-turn Revelation fork that has been sitting on top of a chest for months now.

i serviced it two years back and it hasn't been used for over 18 months. i got pissed off with it as it doesn't hold air in the negative chamber and constantly needs pumping back up. i've now got a hankering for a more XC build and would rather get it up and running again rather than buy a new fork.

i'm guessing that the schrader valve is leaking, but i might be wrong. can i swap out the innards of the valve without taking the whole thing apart?

anyone else had this problem?

Yes you can. The valve core is the same as any other shraeder valve. Just make sure you check there isn't any pressure in it before you remove it.
When you serviced them last time, did you use a genuine service kit or generic O rings on the air pistons? As if the generic metric ones, they're not an exact match for the originals.

hmmm... think i used generic ones from a shop, not from RS. i only serviced it as it wasn't holding air in the first place.

I know there can be issues with seals between the pos & neg air chamber, as my 2010 forks had it... not exactly sure of the specifics though, as it was diagnosed & fixed by the sram service centre when they had them for a separate warranty issue.

Nowt wrong with trying the valve first though, as it's an easy option to try
