Kicking the weekend off on a Thursday night for me with a rip round the local local with Mrsstu and a couple of mates that work at the brewery down the road.

This morning a solo ride over at Yair.
First time I've actually ridden there since spending half a day clearing a few of the trails and making a diversion where the climb/pushup is completely blocked.

Let's see all your adventures 😎
It's easy to forget sometimes just how stunning the local stuff is.
Took a lunch bimble up to se my mums grave today.... wasn't lovely weather, but there's no-one for miles when you're up there.

No riding for me today. I’ve been swapping wheels, fitting tyre inserts, setting up suspension, and taping the frame on a new bike.
It has not rained here for about 3 weeks and guess what, the moment I finish the bike the heavens opened up 😂.
Shakedown and suspension tweaking tomorrow and then it’s over to Torridon and Crask of Aigas for a couple of bigger spins on it………or maybe back on the Specialized Status.

That a very fetching steed Hairyscary.
I'll grab some dusty pics from tomorrow morning's ride.
Weekend started yesterday after school! Hopefully get out for another couple of rides over the weekend as well.

Awesome, she's already got the enduro tongue of concentration dialled there.
😀
I just got soaked on my road bike in Aberdeenshire 😭
Yeah. Bluebell ride for me too. And wild garlic. SS HT.
Kicked off the weekend early (so far as riding bikes goes anyway) with a dusty and bluebell heavy local post work loop yesterday. Ah the joys of no longer living in London.

Play in the woods thisaft after an early finish

Seems to be a theme emerging already this weekend...
The Whangie as dry as I’ve seen it

My commuting trail is getting a bit brambly in places so I took the secateurs up this morning to trim the worst of it

Followed by an explore of some new nice routes

Up to the most disappointing "viewpoint" ever. Not even worth a photo
Back on the bike after a few enforced weeks away. I'm recovering from Covid, eldest recovering from busted knee. The bird song and greenery of spring is just ace. My fitness, not.
This is 'taking it easy' at Comrie - all but Huck to Flat...

^^Golfie dry and dusty last night.
Up snowdon today, dry and dusty, and mega busy up the top.

Enjoying the bluebell photos! My fourth ride on the mtb in two weeks, more than I've managed in the past year and it's alot more fun than the gravel bike. Back home on the wolds and finding some new nadgery singletrack which was fun.

The Whangie as dry as I’ve seen it
always fancied that ride. What is it like?
I spent a couple of hours at cathkin exploring the new trails and features that have been built.
Hardtail ride over Yair today followed by a few beers at Tempest.

No pictures but I've had to actually wash my bicycle because it was getting too dusty!!!
Nice pootle round some local semi cheeky stuff early on Saturday morning. Lots of bluebells and birdsong. Glad I went as it's all grey this morning.

Had two hours free yesterday so got out for a blast round the Bristol trails, which were bone dry and dusty, as they have been for a couple of weeks. Pissing down today, but hopefully the trails will dry out again before Tuesday evening's ride.

Rivi was very dusty yesterday morning...

Should be damped down nicely after the rain now though.
Dust? Hah!

Got caught in the rain at lunchtime yesterday while I was at 850m. It more-or-less stayed on until I got back to the van four hours later!
Finally got the quirky 'downcountry-lite' / XC / marathon bike rebuilt as I want it today. Now just got to actually plan and do the things it was bought for over two years ago...
So, took it out for a quick shakedown ride this morning. All was fine until the non-drive crank kept working loose (entirely my fault for a bordeline spacer setup on the BB due to the chain device and lack of ISCG mounts on the frame. So had to turn back and soft-pedal home before fixing and another quick spin out to check my spannering was OK.
Friday - Colsnaur
Was 3C when I set off but warmed up considerably on the climb. Had to go nekkid under my Buffalo.

Sunday - Eastern Ochils: Alva - Silver Glen - Ben Buck - Ben Cleuch - Andrew Gannel - Kings Seat - Dollar
The gang are shown on the descent of Kings Seat. A 650m descent into Dollar.
Jump train.
Little dog spin around the Oxford canal.

Pushing the definition of 'gravel'

Good 'ol fashioned XC yomp today, with some steep bits chucked in for added spice 🙂

Been working in Dubai for 9 days, overnight flight home and straight to my Father In-Laws wake, day with the boy yesterday, so had a good day over the Purbecks today.

No dust for me! Went out for a loop round the Quantocks and it was all a bit moist. Plenty of grip though so was all good. There was pretty poor visibility though down to low cloud so the only picture I took is in a small valley, that will have to do.

Obligatory log pile shot from Delamere
@jimmy748 that route looks fun, any chance of a Komoot link or similar as i'm going to down that way in a few weeks time?
@maxtorque you should be able to download the GPX from my Strava https://strava.app.link/q06kah71Hpb
No pictures but I actually rode a bike, for only the 4th time this year.
I don’t like riding on roads and there isn’t really any decent mountain biking from the door, but I really enjoyed my cruise about the local woods / nature reserve.
I was on my hard tail which never gets used so I put some slicks on it. It’s made me want a gravel bike TBH and to sell the hard tail. I need to get fitter and this could be the answer.
As ever, some great photos and rides 😎
Youngest Ready was 21 this weekend so only had time for a quick local loop.

This thread title, together with me taking the mudguards off my XC bike, seem to have done the trick with the weather.
Headed down to North Wales for the long weekend with a mate that had never visited...
