Guys,
I have been given an old Releigh Road Ace bike which I am trying to get up and running which I can burn into town on (and does not get stolen due to it's lush looks.
Question: Its has Shimano 600 frame mounted friction shifters which when put under load uphill will shift down to and higher gear on the rear cassette.
I have tightened the screw into the shifter/frame mount but I still get it slipping into higher gears when put under strain.
Any advice (apart from buy a new bike) on how to make it shift better?
Tar, Ells
