I fix bikes sporadically for a local charity shop so they can then sell them on. They get them from donations, house clearance and police.
Imagine my surprise today to see a very tidy retro machine among the Apollos and other BSO's!

Same colour as this[img] [/img]

If it isn't claimed It will be sold for the charity.

If there are any retrobike forumites here would you mind linking to this.

Email in profile.

If anyone has an idea of the value that would be good too. I was thinking around £300 ish. I've just given it a clean, it's in really good condition.

I've linked this on Retrobike forum. I doubt it's nicked if it has been handed in for charity but who knows?

Is it that bike, or one like it? Just thinking for the folk making offers.

If it turns out not to be nicked, I'm sure that an auction on RB, with the proceeds to the charity could and would be arranged.

I couldn't resist giving the head badge a quick polish!

This place gets unclaimed bikes from the local cops every so often. It just seems like such an odd bike to be habded in legit as it is highly unlikely the old dear in the shop will have a clue as to its potential worth.

Prefer the top bike colour, make a good rigid bike.

Last alibi on retrobike was advertised for £450 frame and forks and some other wee bits so I think £300 would be a steal

Please, please, please, please make this an auction on RB for your charity.

That's lovely and could/should raise some really good money for your cause.

First firm bid is in - £350 posted.

The charity which the proceeds will go to is Blythswood Care

I will take bids on the bike until 9pm Sunday night, the highest bidder will then be passed onto the operations manager at Blythswood and can pay them directly. I will then post the bike.

My email is in my profile.

Oh, and a bump for this worthy thread as well! 🙂 Any chance of teh Modz changing the title and making this a sticky for a while, I wonder?

(Could someone please report this post to bring it to their attention? 🙂 )

Your auction thread appears to have been locked by a mod on retro-bike, seems a little off to lock a charity auction, the guy could have just contacted you to see what was occurring! Hope it all gets sorted.

All sorted, thread will be moved and unlocked in the morning.
Fair enough to be concerned I s'pose, it does all look a bit unconventional looking back over the postings, especially as it was my first post over on retrobike.

Apologies, I forgot when I started the auction I was going away this weekend, until Tuesday. I'll take bids until Tuesday 9pm instead of Sunday.
