Anyone else struggle to take a rest day?
four days commuting by bike
four gym sessions (weights)
one yoga session
in the last five days.
I do feel physically tired, and promised myself a feet up, do nothing day, but the wife and kids are out for a few hours this afternoon and my bike is whispering my name.
Must resist.
Nope, not when properly tired, or needing to recover.
Rest days don't exist for me,,when I'm not at work I look after my 3 year old son.When he's at nursery,that's only chance I get to ride/gym/swim.
going for a walk or a slow spin to the shops is 'active recovery' rest days do not need to be done sat on the couch.
replace rest with easy sessions. Mix up intensity and length it will help. But rest is as important as training but you dont need to take a whole day off. Rest day = gym say 5 x 5 reps easy weights 😉 +1 active recovery
