Got delivery of my new Ti frame yesterday. Drive side cup threads in nicely, but the NDS is pretty resistant. I've given it a bit of a brush and spray with IPA but that hasn't done much.

Anything else I should try before bothering the LBS (who have a huge waiting list at the mo)?

Ask Renton to do it for you?

I'd use grease instead of IPA though, if it still catches then stop and get the threads cleaned up properly.

Is it a new BB?

Does it have threadlock pre-applied?

Do you have another frame you can fit the BB to?

I have a toothbrush sized wire brush that I always use before BB installation, BB threads are pretty fine and a tight fit, it doesn't take much debris in there to cause thread pick up. You could also take the threadlock off, and apply a light grease or even oil (like a cutting fluid grade) to get you home.

Thanks all. No pics as I'm posting this while toddler-wrangling.

I guess I'd just expected that the BB would screw in loose by hand - I was just popping it in to see what it looks like.

I'll give a wee dab of grease to see how that goes.

There's a wee bit of swarf in the headtube and seat tube as well so I suspect that the frame needs a decent clean before starting to build.
