Does anyone know how to alter the fixed gradient or slope used for a smart turbo on Zwift in free ride segments?
Trying to do a 1min best effort on the 2020 academy only to find out even in 53x11 I'm spinning out at 700w and can only get that at like 160rpm because all i'm getting is the resistance I would if the turbo were unplugged is frustrating. It's not like I can even just put it on Alp du Zwift and ask it to follow the artificial gradient.
Honestly the whole 'lets pretend we're on a real road' aspect of zwift is shit for any meaningful indoor 🚆 ING.
Can you move the trainer difficulty up? It is in the options menu and is normally set to 50% as default.
so I found that you kinda need to slooooow down in the lead up to that 1 min free ride..really drop the cadence...then the resistance ramps up in the lead in... and once you go under the arch you're in a higher resistance and all is good...
DrP
The 'Trainer difficulty' setting only relates to how strongly the trainer responds to zwift gradients. Since gradients aren't part of the free ride segments on an erg mode workout, they don't impact it.
DrP, that's not what I'm experiencing. There is no change in 'level' like there would be if I opened any other piece of training software and put the bike on 'Slope Level 4' or whatever. Even my wahoo bolt can do this. Zwift is a stupid fisher price solution.
Something doesn't seem right there. I have had up to 1100w on a free ride section on the Academy workouts and my rpm was only around 100. That is also using a 46t front ring.
I assume this is the 4th workout on fan flats? I'm doing this Friday so will be interesting to see if I have the same issues.
