So says the rotors on my SLX brake set. Anyone chosen to ignore the advice, used sintered pads, AND survived the experience?

Yeah. I have them on one bike. They just squeal a lot.

Sintered pads will warp them....eventually.

Those rotors that say resin only on them come with some OEM bikes to cut costs. They are made from a much softer steel than the more expensive rotors. If you use them with sintered pads, the rotors wear/warp alarmingly quickly and they make a lot of noise in the process!

Forgot to say when you say SLX brakeset...that may not mean the rotors are. My old bike came with SLX 'brake set' but the rotors were RT51 resin only.

It used to be you got that with deore and lower, but not with slx and up, have they changed that? (or as above, is it an oem set?)
