Someone hit my car in a car park.

There is minor damage, and a witness who left their details, and are happy to act as a witness.

They left a description of the car that hit mine, including the registration number, and are happy to act as a witness on my behalf.

The other car drove off without leaving details.

Is it going to be more trouble than its worth to report this to the police, and insurance to make a claim...

at the moment I am 50/50 on if to bother.

See how much it is to repair. Same happened to me and the Ford garage fixed it for £17. Just took it on the chin.

Report to the Police, might be a minor bump/damage, but leaving the scene suggests either A) a lack of insurance or B) General gittishness, both deserve investigating IMO...

Get a crime number, and have the insurance pay for the repairs it's not your fault so shouldn't affect your premium...

How much will it cost to repair ?

If you claim on their insurance your insurance cost will still go up.

Get a crime number, and have the insurance pay for the repairs it's not your fault so shouldn't affect your premium...

Oh yes it will

I've checked and they are insured, although I don't know who the insurance company is.
The rear light cluster has stopped working and a clip is broken
I am going to try replacing bulbs and don't think the clip is required....

did the other car appear to notice? if it was just a glancing blow and the driver wasn't aware then, while not excusable, you could forgive them for not knowing. But if the witness suggests otherwise then call the insurance and let them deal with it, drivers who willfully drive around with blinkers on should be taken out back and shot (jmo). of course it would mean you have to report the "non fault" accident upon your renewal for another 5 years at least. don't forget how it went down for Mr balls recently http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bradford-west-yorkshire-28658217
