I got an '04 Yeti ASR and the rear shock is a 5th element, Its starting to where and maybe i'll put a nice new shocker on it.

Other than the price of the shock what else should i need to budget into the replacement?
Has anyone done this and what shock did you use?

You should also factor in the cost of new mounting hardware for your shock. These are the littel bits of metal that go through/between the shock eyelets and frame mounting points. These are specific to the Shock and frame combination you have.

Shock eyelets come in different sizes and then the frame spacing can differ from model to model.

You will need to ensure you get a shock that is both the same eye to eye length as the one fitted and the same stroke to both keep the travel the same and acoid the posibility of the wheel traveling too far and hitting the frame.

The last thing to concider is the tune of the shock (the amount of compression and rebound it has) this will determin how the shock performs in conjunction with the suspension design of your frame.

Speak to someone like Mojo or TF Tuned and they'll provide everything you need in one easy package. They'll also talk to you about various tunes based on your riding and what you like.

I recently changed my Romic shock for a Fox Vanilla Rc from TFtuned. I got it push tuned as well.

Came with bushings/mounting kit included

I have to say its bloody brilliant!
