Afternoon all,
had a bit of a nightmare Saturday night trying to replace my tatty braided hoses on my V2's, first off i had emailed Hope and been told that all parts were re-usable, happy days so i just ordered 3 metres of Goodridge hose to do both brakes and thought i was good.
First issue was that the shroud on the front caliper had welded itself to the 90deg connector and when i tried to undo the shroud the 90deg connector sheared, gutted,i still can't seperate them now. Annoyed with myself i moved onto the rear, again the connector and shroud were pretty corroded but i did manage to undo this time although i did feel like the connector slightly twisted too.
The olives almost all were damaged in removal or attempted refitment to the new hoses,i peeled some outer back to fit the olive but i had to open them up quite far to get them on.
I've emailed Hope and had nothing back, having looked at the price of connector kits i don't want to get it wrong so could anyone tell me what i'm going to need as hardly any of the re-useable Hope stuff is useable!
Cheers in advance,
Steve
buy the proper goodridge kit, connectors and all the gubbings, much better to use than hope's, with real reusable parts no olives etc..
around 40 quid each but worth every penny,
I've already bought Goodridge hose so just need 2 x 90deg connectors,1 caliper end of connections as the others are welded together and some olives - will be gutted if i have to shell out that kind of cash for 2 kits.
Ebay good for Goodridge fittings. Buy the stainless, not alloy, for the reasons you've found above. I've never got a banjo off yet, they always seize, than bust when you try to undo them.
Goodridge fittings are so neat they make olives and shrouds seem a bit slapdash.
ScothChegg - You don't know which of the Goodridge fittings i need do you by any chance?
Any of these?

Just about to check ebay as i'm guessing these kits do one brake per kit which makes for a very expensive hose change 🙁
Cheers,
