Can anyone tell me if it is at all possible to replace steerer tubes.
I have bought some Rock shox Pikes with a too short tube and have heard some rumors of replacements
but would like not to kill myself in the process if possible.
Cheers,
Sam.

Not without replacing the whole CSU...expensive fix

Just had a nose in your postings: so the Pikes have a 200mm steerer, whats the HT length on the Spesh? Maybe a low stack headset or stem would work.

It's a very expensive business unfortunately.

Is it an XL Stumpy perchance?

Marzocchi 55s are asking an awful lot from a Stumpjumper IMHO. I'll check the geometries, until very recently I ran a Pike with a 200mm steerer on an Enduro and I had four 5mm spacers worth of stack height spare.

I'd be amazed if your Stumpy's headtube was more than 10mm longer.

I am very tall 6'8 and need quite a tall stack, presumably one of these would mean the stem would be mounted almost directly on the headset ?
