Morning all

Need to replace the PF92 BB on my Trek Fuel Ex 9.9 and have been looking at the Wheels Manufacturing PF86/92 which also comes in with Ceramic bearings
So the first question is will this fit my frame as I'm a little confused over the newer standards and secondly is it worth getting the ceramic bearing version?
Also any feedback on these BBs as an alternative to Hope or a suitable alternative to either?

Thanks 🙂

If it'll fit, I'd be looking at the cane creek hellbender BB.

Assuming it is PF92 rather than Trek’s own (PF95?) you’d be better with this one as it threads together to ensure bearings are parallel and doesn’t creak.

Yes, definitely PF92 and not the Trek own standard. Running XT M8000 cranks.

I did look at the Hellbender but the spindle size was wrong iirc.

Not creaking is good, do you still need a press to fit initially?

The wheels manufacturing thread together bb has been pretty trouble free on the other half’s bike for over 5 years. The odd check to make sure it’s still snug. Bearing life is more or less comparable to what I tend to get out of normal shimano bbs but does depend on which bearings you refit.

Happy enough with it I bought one for my cross bike.
