You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I’ve recently bought a used bike for my son. Lots of great kit on it including RCT3/26” Rock Shox Revelation 140mm Solo Air with a Maxle- my first foray into bolt through forks.
The Maxle is damaged- cuts scored into the QR lever. I’ve been looking to replace it. I was surprised at the (£50) cost of a genuine Maxle replacement, but would be happy to get a more cost-effective replacements Brand X or similar.
I’ve measured the existing Maxle. It’s about 148mm up to the QR flange and is 15mm diameter. Th3 thread extends about 10 along the axle.
I’ve searched on line and can’t find exactly the measurements I need for a replacement. Otherwise, is it possible just to replace the QR lever?
Juat don't bother with a QR one, Burgtec and OneUp do well priced bolt up axles for Rockshox, can't go wrong, just get boost or non-boost depending on your fork, or get a RockShox Maxle Stealth.
I have all three of the above on different bikes, zero issues with any of them, juat get the cheapest or best colour.
I'd just wait for the brand x ones to come back in stock. Go on CRC and click on 'email when back in stock' personally I prefer the allen key ones.
Trouble is the non boost are a bugger to get hold of. Burgtec did one in just black, but you probably wont find one.
On up components do one at a reasonable price. I have one of their rear axles on my bird.
Thanks for the tips.
I managed to decode all the different variables and have ordered a Brand X replacement (15mm diameter, non-boost, Rockshox specific) so I’m hoping that’ll do the trick!
