I had forgotten what fun it is to be sliding around in the dark. Last night was such a blast- until about an hour in I was getting worried that the battery wasn't going to make it until the end of the ride.
I have a Magicshine 'Mickey Mouse' lamp with a 18650 2S2P pack inside it. There are loads of replacement battery packs available online at a whole range of prices. I was about to send my money to RS components, a brand I know and trust. £40.00 inc postage. But is there anything else worth considering?
Happy to pay more for a new lamp with better performance- the guys I was with were using Hopes and were lighting the woods right up. Seem good to me. But at close on £300- Hell's Teeth!!!
You can just buy a battery box and more 18650 batteries, from various places to keep your current light going. Or buy from https://www.mtbbatteries.co.uk/ who will actually support the replacement batteries he sells. He also does a quality light set, and again his support is second to none & though not cheap as chips, it's not hope/exposure levels of cost.
