Hi I've just bought a specialized riprock 20 for my son but needs new grips. The right side with gripshift is 70mm but the other side is 120mm. Any recommendations on what is best to do? I have got photos but not figured out how to add them On here yet.
Cheers

I just buy the 5 or 6 quid jobs from Halfords, if you get the ribbed ones they're easy to offer up and cut to length with a sharp Stanley knife

OK cheers, most I've seen seem to be 90mm though or should I just budge the left brake handle up a bit?

Personally I'd bin the gripshift for a trigger style shifter and then fit the grips to match but otherwise just cut down a slim grip to fit with some good scissors

Hmm, cutting down grips has always ended in a mess ime - no way could you cut the inside edge flush with the grip-shift... so if you’re tempted to try it, cut the outside edge.
Personally, I’d go to the old ebay and do a search..for example
“Oxford Bicycle Cycle Bike Lock On Grip-Shift Handlebar Grips Black HG803B” (sorry, share link won’t work in ipad)

I have cut down many grips to use with twistshift. Measure twice cut once. On the non shifter side just leave a gap between the brake lever and the grip -

Nowadays I use foam grips - simple to cut to length

You might have, but the person asking the question quite obviously has not

If you don't feel like cutting any old grips down, you have three options:

1. Buy some grips which are designed to be cut if required:
https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/handlebar-tape-grips/herrmans-dd08b-comfort-dd-dual-density-ergonomic-handlebar-grips-120-mm-length-black-grey/

2. Buy some grips which come as a specific "one long, one short" pair:
https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/handlebar-tape-grips/velo-ergogel-d3-lock-handlebar-grips-right-side-short-for-rohloff/

3. Buy one long pair and one short pair and use one of each, then either sell the remaining pair or keep them as spares:

Strange. Works for me. From the app: three dots in top right, the "Share this item", then copy; from the browser: long press a link then copy, or if you're already on the page share then copy.
